So I have 200 shares of CBBL and they had decided to give 27% bonus share and 3% cash. So that basically means I should get 600 Rs (200*3) cash dividend right? I can see they have given 300 Rs only. What am I missing?

Thanks

  1. cash dividend that you receive will be deducted taxes. Tax on the dividend is 5% and is charged on the total dividend given. so your total tax amount will be 5%*30%(bonus+cash)*100(par value)*200(number of shares you have) = 300 Rs. Therefore, you received 300 Rs(600-300) since you got a cash dividend of 600 Rs and tax of 300 Rs
