The NEPSE Index experienced a sharp decline of 50.73 points (1.88%), closing at 2,637.79. This fall comes after the previous session’s gain of 78.17 points. The trading day began with the index at 2,698.52 points, reaching a high of 2,734.58 points before dropping to a low of 2,630.11 points.
A total of 324 companies participated in 119,739 transactions, with a significant total turnover of Rs. 10.34 Arba. The market saw 24,846,782 shares traded, bringing the overall market capitalization to Rs. 41.94 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was recorded at Rs. 14.72 Kharba.
CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC) led the turnover, with shares worth Rs. 64.38 Crore traded, closing at Rs. 2,035.
On a positive note, four companies achieved a 10% gain each, while Three Star Hydropower Limited (TSHL) recorded the steepest loss, falling by 10%.
Sector-wise, the Hotel and Tourism Index suffered the most, dropping 3.68%, while the Mutual Fund Index saw the smallest decline at 0.61%.
