The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index dropped by 26.07 points (0.99%) today, closing at 2,597.49. This decline follows a significant 114.70-point rise in the previous trading session.
The market fluctuated throughout the day, opening at 2,629.73 points, reaching an intraday high of 2,643.76, before dipping to a low of 2,582.72. By the close, a total of 310 scrips were traded through 83,081 transactions, resulting in a turnover of Rs. 6.77 Arba with 15,199,763 shares exchanged.
Nepal Finance Company Ltd. (NFS) led the turnover with Rs. 20.71 crore worth of shares traded, closing at Rs. 1,387.90. Three Star Hydropower Limited (TSHL) saw the highest gain of the day, with a 10% rise, while Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (WNLB) recorded the largest loss, dropping by 10%.
Sector-wise, the Finance Index posted the highest increase of 1.75%, while the Non-Life Insurance Index registered the largest decline, losing 1.82%.
