Rasuwa Customs Office has collected Rs 585.5 million in fines from traders who tried to dodge customs duties by underreporting imported goods from China. Chief Customs Officer Ram Prasad Pathak shared that this amount was gathered over the past 11 months of the current fiscal year.
Officer Pathak stated that goods worth Rs 59.7875 billion have been imported from China, while goods worth Rs 1.8476 billion have been exported to China through the Rasuwa customs checkpoint between July 17, 2023, and June 14, 2024, in the fiscal year 2023/24.
Revenue collection has seen a significant boost, reaching 165 percent of the annual target. A total of Rs 19.1721 billion has been collected as revenue during this period, showing a notable improvement in the customs office’s efficiency and effectiveness.
