ABC Securities Private Limited was one of the first 25 firms to be granted a Brokerage License by the Nepal Stock Exchange Ltd. The name of the company was changed from Khandelwal Stock Broking Co. Pvt. Ltd. to ABC Securities Pvt. Ltd. on the 10th Jestha of the year 2066 B.S. as a result of a change of ownership (24th May 2009). Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), Nepal Stock Exchange Ltd. (NEPSE), and CDS & Clearing Ltd. have granted licences to ABC Securities Pvt. Ltd. to conduct stock brokerage services, clearing services, and depository participant services (CDSCL). Prior to then, the company was owned and managed by the late Mr. Sajjan Kumar Agrawal, who established an environment of ethics and an attitude of constant improvement throughout the enterprise. As of right now, Mr. Nitesh Kumar Agrawal and Mr. Yogesh Kumar Agrawal are the sole shareholders of the company. Mr. Nitesh Kumar Agrawal, the company’s Executive Chairman, is in charge of the company’s general operations, while Mr. Yogesh Kumar Agrawal is in charge of the company’s Remote Work Station (RWS), which is located in the eastern city of Dharan in Nepal.
We established ourselves as the first brokerage firm to provide brokerage services in the eastern metropolis of Nepal, Dharan, from the 20th Mangsir, 2070 B.S., with the goal of providing access to capital markets to citizens living outside of the Kathmandu Valley (5th of December, 2013). This programme enabled investors in Dharan and other neighbouring cities to gain direct access to Nepalese financial markets as well as a means of pursuing investment opportunities. Because of our efforts, we have been able to secure a position among the top brokers in Nepal in terms of volume among all the RWS operating in the country.
ABC Securities has played an important role in the development of Nepal’s capital markets, starting with the Open Out Cry System and progressing to the semi-automated trading system NEPSECTS and finally to the NEPSE Online Trading System (NOTS) since the establishment of the Nepal Stock Exchange. During this time, we have been able to collaborate closely with the exchange in order to provide input on the new software that has been implemented, and we have also modernised our IT infrastructure in order to keep up with the changing needs of the industry.
For the past two decades, we have been offering brokerage services with the highest ethical standards and unsurpassed client service. We believe that trust is the most important characteristic of a successful business, and that trust is even more important in the financial markets than it is in other industries. Our belief is that it is because of this characteristic in terms of trading and settlement that we have been able to maintain our trading volumes and keep our position as one of Nepal’s top ten brokerage firms for several years.
Finally, we provide frequent training sessions for our Human Resource personnel in order to keep them up to date on current practises and to help them develop their abilities. In addition, we have conducted and/or funded a number of investor training programmes.
