Nepse Update: Market Sees Slight Dip on Monday
Hey stock market enthusiasts! Let’s dive into the Nepse action from the second day of the week. Today’s stock market performance showed a minor downward trend. The Nepse index closed at 2962.13 points, experiencing a decrease of 2.07 points.
The sensitive index, which tracks the performance of “A” category stocks, also saw a decline of 0.78 points, settling at 513.09. Furthermore, both the float index and the sensitive index fell.
Trading volume experienced a decrease compared to the previous day. A total of 44,124,924 shares were traded across 321 companies. The total trading value reached 19.36 billion. This is a notable drop of 7.20 billion from Sunday’s trading. The decrease in the market is primarily attributed to profit-taking by some investors.
The total market capitalization for the day reached an impressive 49.42 trillion.
Looking at individual stock performance, 94 companies experienced an increase in share prices, while 156 companies saw their values decrease. Sector-wise, 4 groups showed gains, but 9 sectors ended the day in the red.
Here are the top traded companies by amount: Shivam Cement, Himalayan Distillery Limited, Ngadi Group Power, Lumbini Bikas Bank, and Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company’s promoter shares. Shivam Cement led with a turnover of 925.7 million, followed by Himalayan Distillery Limited at 769.9 million, Ngadi Group Power at 579.7 million, Lumbini Bikas Bank at 555.3 million, and Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company’s promoter shares with 516.5 million.
