The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index experienced a decline of 17.04 points today, marking a 0.80% decrease to close at 2,095.25 points. This follows a loss of 9.32 points in the previous trading session.
The trading day began with the index at 2,116.03 points, hitting an intraday high of 2,117.15 points. The lowest point of the day was 2,090.13 before settling at the closing value of 2,095.25 points.
Today’s session saw activity in 317 stocks through 71,997 transactions, with a total trading volume of 13,223,884 shares. The overall turnover reached Rs. 5.47 Arba, with a market capitalization of Rs. 33.22 Kharba and a float market capitalization of Rs. 11.28 Kharba.
Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) led the market in terms of turnover, reaching Rs. 30.4 crores and closing at Rs. 661.10 per share. NFS hit the positive circuit, surging by 10% to close at Rs. 661.10.
Conversely, Bhagawati Hydropower Development Company Limited (BGWT) faced a significant loss, dropping by 10%.
In sector performance, only the “Hotel and Tourism Index” ended the day in positive territory, recording a sectoral gain of 0.04%. The “Microfinance Index” saw the highest loss, declining by 1.71%.
