Nepal Stock Market Surges: NEPSE Climbs to 2,571!
Get the latest Nepal stock market news! The NEPSE index experienced a significant surge of 62.29 points on Tuesday, pushing the index to an impressive 2,571 points. Despite opening in the red, the stock market quickly turned positive just ten minutes into trading and maintained its upward trajectory throughout the day.
The surge in the share market was also accompanied by a notable increase in trading volume. Transactions jumped from Rs 2.79 billion on Sunday to Rs 4.57 billion on Tuesday, indicating strong investor confidence. A total of 236 companies saw their share prices increase, while only 12 experienced declines, and 2 remained unchanged.
Leading the charge were the development bank stocks, experiencing an impressive 4.47% increase. Other sectors also showed strong performance, including banking stocks (1.92%), finance stocks (3.14%), hotel and tourism stocks (2.80%), hydropower stocks (3.90%), investment stocks (3.19%), life insurance stocks (3.55%), manufacturing and processing stocks (0.37%), microfinance stocks (2.59%), non-life insurance stocks (2.54%), and other stocks (1.91%).
Several companies saw their stock prices skyrocket. Nyadi Hydropower, Butwal Power, and Excel Development Bank all witnessed a 10% jump in their share prices. Radhi Hydropower, Lumbini Development Bank, Singati Hydro Energy, and First Microfinance also experienced significant gains, rising by 9.60%, 9.35%, 8.21%, and 8.12% respectively. These figures highlight the potential for high returns in the Nepalese stock market.
On the other hand, Himalayan Power Partner saw the biggest drop in stock value, declining by 6.36%, followed by Unilever (-3.88%) and Bottlers Nepal Balaju (-3.77%).
The most actively traded stocks included Himalayan Power Partner, Union Hydropower, Radhi Hydropower, Butwal Power, and NRN Infrastructure.
